Intermittent latency

I have intermittent latency rather than a speed problem. Downloads and speed tests are fast, but individual requests randomly wait 2-6 seconds before responding across muitiple devices. I've reproduced it on Samsung phones and a Mac. On the Mac, Chrome Dev tools shows the delay is in "Waiting for server response". It occurs over both HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. The Mac to Sky hub connection remains stable during the delays with no packet loss, and DNS, IPv4/IPv6 and MTU tests are normal. The same Mac using a mobile hotspot has consisten response times without the large outliers. I have also factory-reset the Sky Max Hub and the problem immediately returned. The My Sky broadband test reports everything healthy

Re: Intermittent latency

This is common on systems using the white Sky max 6 router.

The connection is difficult to establish, some devices/websites being better, some worse.

Idealy you change the Ip address and possibly the security settings on the router but the Sky max 6 does not allow you to do this. You need to change them on each connected device which is tedious, even more so when the device reverts back to factory settings, which seems to happen from time to time.

if you have one, try a different router, my old black max 5 seems to work fine.
