Moving into a new place and just signed up for Ultrafast Plus. Original date for installation was meant to be 26th July which is already a long time without internet. Now it's been pushed back to 7th of July. That's almost 4 weeks after ordering.
Obviously I need and am paying for internet. Can Sky send a bog standard modem so I'm somewhat connected during this time? Even on low speeds? Until the real installation occurs

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreTypically ISPs won't do that because provisioning on 'bog standard' broadband has fixed costs attached (paid by the ISP to Openreach) which are then duplicated by provisioning the same address with Ultrafast, and your subscription payments during the subsequent minimum contract period won't cover both.
