Incorrect address for broadband setup

My son ordered sky broadband to our new address, after moving house.

He gave the correct address with the correct eircode, but when he got the confirmation message sent by openEir, the address itself was some address in a nearby village, but with our (correct) eircode. So my son called sky and the customer service agent he spoke to was able to attach a note to the job ticket for openEir with the correct address.

So last week the installation guy came out to us, but unfortunately turned out that we have to trim some trees etc. Long story short, my son scheduled installation attempt no 2 for this week - but now openEir are saying they won't be coming out to us unless the address has been corrected.

So my son rang sky customer service today, and they are maintaining that it's openEir who will have to correct the address. He was referred to contact sky by them, and referred to contact openEir to make the correction by sky!

I told him to just ring sky tomorrow and cancel the whole package, we'll send back the black connection box and go with Vodafone or some other provider, plenty out there  - this isn't worth the hassle at all.

Has anyone had this situation?
