If my contract ends and I do nothing can I cancel for free whenever?

Hi,

My Sky Broadband contract is expiring in the next month or so and I've been presented with 2 options.

  1. Take out a new contract with a lesser discount for 18 month minimum term
  2. Move onto the full price but no minimum term is mentioned

Im rather awkwardly on holiday when the contract expires and will most likely look to another ISP when I'm back. So am I correct in thinking that I can move on to option 2 above for 1 month let's say and then switch for free?

Any clarification would be appreciated

Any clarification would be appreciated
