I cancelled my broadband in December and they are trying to charge me for February
I cancelled my broadband in December because I was unwilling to pay the ridiculous increase from 18th January. I received confirmation that broadband was cancelled with effect from 18th January however they have billed me for February and are now saying I will be charged £10 for non payment. I cancelled my direct debit because I was unwilling to pay for a month where I was no longer a broadband customer. I am now paying another supplier and have no intention of paying SKY for a service they are no longer providing. I have tried complaining with no success. Can someone help please

Re: I cancelled my broadband in December and they are trying to charge me for February
Sky won't talk to you if your accounts is restricted as it appears to be. You can't cancel whilst restricted.
A few people have come on here believing cancelling a payment method is the answer to their problems. We are customers who have seen and replied to those posts. Believe us when we say it's not the route you want to take. Cancelling your payment method is the worst thing you could do. Sky will add non payment fees. You won't be able to talk to Sky or cancel your subscription. Sky will eventually pass the debt to a debt collection agency which is likely to impact your credit score. You need to reinstate your payment method asap, pay what Sky say you owe then you can talk to Sky.

Sorry Daniel you are talking nonsense. What legal right do SKY have to charge for a service that they stopped providing before the billing period. Why on earth would SKY expect me to continue paying for a something that I no longer receive.

Re: I cancelled my broadband in December and they are trying to charge me for February
@Alan0606 it is far simpler to pay the amount asked and then be credited. Being in default will cause you far more problems and effort to get it sorted. Direct Debit payments are programmed over 2 weeks before they are taken so its not unusual for cancellations to be actioned before payment is taken. By cancelling the Direct Debit the system registers you in default. Sky wont talk to you to sort this until this is sorted.
