How to enable 2.4ghz WiFi

I'm on sky 900mb internet using the sky supplied router.

I need to set the WiFi to 2.4ghz to set up some smart home devices.

I have found the setting in the sky app that has 2 toggles for enabling and disabling 2.4ghz and 5ghz in advanced WiFi settings.

As soon as I disable the 5ghz my phone loses all wifi connection and the WiFi no longer shows up in the list of networks available to connect to so I can't proceed to connect any of my smart home devices as the apps they use need to be on the same wifi network as the devices.

The only way I can resume the normal WiFi is by using the sky apps connection diagnostics which gives me an error that WiFi is turned off and then returns me to the enable/disable WiFi bands - which shows both speeds enabled.

I then have to disable and re enable both speeds and WiFi returns.

I can't resume WiFi simply by going to WiFi advanced settings and doing exactly the same. It has to be done via the connection diagnostics. A router reset also does not bring the WiFi back.

Any ideas?

@Silvermanz your phone should remain connected assuming you did not turn off the 2.4GHz band at the sametime as the Sky hubs broadcast a dualband WiFi signal. That it doesnt implies something in the network settings is insisting on using only to 5GHz band. Try reconnecting the phone by choosing ghe Sky SSID.
