How many days before activitation will openreach do external work?

Hi, 

I have an activation date of the 19th. How many days before this date will open reach come to do the external work? As i pick up keys to the property on the 14th.

@AlexQuinn If you have only one appointment then it will be the 19th as long as it does not slip for any reason.

This is all I have, will they do all of the external and internal work at the same time?

@AlexQuinn it depends on what is required but typically a new fibre line run from a  pole as opposed to an underground feed is done in one visit. Underground feeds are more complicated as digging is usually required to run the fibre from the road to your property but these can be single visit if Openreach expect that they can reuse a duct the copper line uses. 

If really curious you can check the install method by entering you full address into this checker Openreach Checker

which shows the expected install type to the right of the line WBC FTTP and in the notes. If you post thr result include the first 3 lines of the notes and dnsure the detail of the address is obscured.

@Chrisee I csnt seem to work out how to attach a screenshot but it says 

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:-Single Dwelling Unit Residential OH Feed hoist required.

FTTP is available and a new ONT may be ordered.

The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme

@AlexQuinn Just use the camera icon, if you wish to attach the screenshot, but you may have supplied enough information, as long as the Hoist is required, you may end up with a one day or split day's install.

@AlexQuinn if a hoistis required it looks like there will need to be a visit to run the cable to your property and install the external CSP box which will be done before the installation of the ONT. The first visit may not require you to be at home but if you are the engineers normally will explain what they plan.

This is the communication I've had, so will I only have to attend this one? As its a rental, I won't be at the property before this.
