House move

Hi,

I've moved house and been in the new house for a week, I've called sky today to arrange the house move (I had an outstanding bill so that's why I've been in a week before doing so)

even though the previous owner has no open or outstanding lines with sky, I'm being told my broadband is going to take 9 days to be activated, I assumed as the previous owner was a sky customer that this would be a simple switch and activation? Any advice would be appreciated

thanks.

Unfortunately the previous ISP being Sky makes no difference: there's still a standard ten working day minimum lead time for Openreach to do the required work (and potentially much longer where new FTTP infrastructure is involved)

Sky now suggests booking a Home Move 'between four and eight weeks' in advance of the moving date, which is probably an indication of what they are seeing on the ground.

@Nathan48

That is completely normal and you are lucky its only 9 days as many home moves can take 2,3,4 weeks.
