Help with wire please...

Hello,

I had an openreach engineer come to my property to fix my Internet wire someone had pulled out on the outside of my property. When she came inside to double check all was working she said I needed a new wire from the new box front (openreach mk4 master socket 5c) to the router.

Does anyone know what this is called please as its different from my last one?

Re: Help with wire please...

Probably an RJ11 to RJ11 DSL/modem cable. AVailable online or from Screwfix among others.

But why is a new wire required, was the master socket changed?

Re: Help with wire please...

Hi thank you for your reply. The master socket was changed so was asked to get a new wire as ours were 14 yrs old and looking worse for wear. They only had a short wire on them at the time just to keep us going.
