HIKVision CCTV keeps disconnecting

We recently moved from BT to SKY.  Our HikVision CCTV is connected via an ethernet cable; with BT it worked without issue for 2 years, connected via WiFi wth a BT Disc.  We moved to SKY and whilst the SKY Max Pod was in the post I used a TP AV Link adaptor to connect the CCTV to the Router; all worked fine.

SKY Max Hub now installed, CCTV connected via ethernet cable; reboot CCTV system, it connects, I get activity alerts on phone, I can view cameras live and playback. Then overnight, CCTV disconnects.  I need the SKY Max Pod to extend WiFI to other part of house.

I have changed Security to WPA2 (although all worked with previous settings).  Same issue occurs.  If I restart CCTV it connects, then overnight disconnects.

Any advice of guidance much appreciated; I assume its a setting I have not found yet.

Thank you

David

Re: HIKVision CCTV keeps disconnecting

@DavidUK Take a look on the Tp-Link AV adapter that it is still connected to the system, powering off and on the CCTV is not going to show you what is going on, you should try disconnecting the AV Ethernet at the Hub first, give it a 60 seconds the Adapter will out one off it's lights to show you that the poweline is off, reconnect it and see if everything get's re-connected.

Edit:- Assuming you are still using the Powerline, or are you trying to plug the Ethernet into the Pod?

Re: HIKVision CCTV keeps disconnecting

Thanks for your reply. Trying to connect via the POD - not using the TPLink.  Same issue with the POD - will connect, then overnight disconnects - it only seems to work for a short time without restarting CCTV (NVR) system..... The TPLink worked without issue - only the POD that is creating the problem.

Re: HIKVision CCTV keeps disconnecting

@DavidUK That is what will be going on, you are trying to use the wireless wi-fi connection off the pod to stear the CCTV through the Ethernet connection, if the pod wireless struggles and drops the connection then you are stuffed, would leave the CCTV NVR alone and just do a pod power off minute later back on with it let it reconnect and see how and if it all recovers!

Any reason why you disconnected the Tp-Link powerline?

Re: HIKVision CCTV keeps disconnecting

Thank you - tried powering off POD several times - does not connect unless I rebooot NVR.  Need the POD to extend Wifi to other parts of house - TPLink was borrowed whilst POD arrived as had to send BT kit back - it worked with BT kit - no issues ever.

Re: HIKVision CCTV keeps disconnecting

@DavidUK You have a choice, the CCTV NVR and the Pod are just not playing nice with each other, nothing you can do to change anything in the pod that's for sure, NVR was working fine connected via the Tp-Link AV adapter, i would order a set off those, My AV600 the main one packed in last wed, had been on and connected for 6 years, gave me a warning about a month ago switched itself off just reset it and thought nothing much off it, but died the death so replaced it but could not get the AV600 so just ordered the AV1000, worked just the same, swapped the one out, repaired the Ethernet Sat, and the two wireless adapters for the Ring doorbell and camera, no issues up and working in about 10 mins, just hope i get another 6 years but you just never know!
