Full fibre upgrade installation fail

Got offer to upgrade for "free" to full fibre recently. Shouldnt have bothered. Openreach turn up 1 week early unannounced but I was able to accommodate. The Sky engineer turns up last week on arranged date to complete install. Engineer states they can't complete upgrade as something wrong with the BT work. Broadband now worse than before. Streaming videos run for about 10-15 secs then just buffers. Constant refreshing. Frequently struggling to open up websites. No further contact from Sky or BT/Openreach.

Hi @kevfife1974

Its pretty typical that Openreach turn up unannounced to do pre install work for Full Fibre, if your there then thats great, if not they come back another time.

As for the issues you have, if your install hasnt yet been successful then I don't see how it could have changed your setup or caused any issues, to me it sounds like a coincidence. Have you tried contacting Sky to tell them about those issue separately? Or ran a line test in the My Sky app?

Re: Full fibre upgrade installation fail

Hi jamesn123,

Running speed test for upload and download speed doesn'tt appear to show a drop in service but there has defintely been a change in the stability. I notice it and so does my son when using his Xbox. Coincidence maybe but can't get through to any human at Sky. The virtual assitant is laughable, just kept asking me to explain my issue in more than 7 words. I'll try contact them again after work.
