Full fibre 500 poor signal on Sony Bravia tv
Full fibre 500 just installed. Good reception on all devices, except Sony Bravia tv. Keeps dropping and saying no WiFi, whilst other devices stay connected.

@Pan25 Use you app and see what the sky Max hub that you have is set for on the wireless securities, the link below will help, WPA2-PSK mode will be far better than any off the WPA3 modes off operation. Also hopefully your TV is not to far away from the sky Hub and recieving a reasonable wi-fi signal. Ethernet cable is always better!

Re: Full fibre 500 poor signal on Sony Bravia tv
@Pan25 Any homes can have wifi dead dpots if it only affects a single device like your TV a simple solution is to buy a pair of Powerline adapters. These use the mains cabling to carry the data between the hub and the TV connecting to each by short ethernet cables. Onky usecwall sockets for tge adapters many come with a pass through mains connection so you don't lose the use of the socket

Re: Full fibre 500 poor signal on Sony Bravia tv
@Chrisee Strangely enough my OLDER Sony Bravia TV has always been the least problem for wireless wi-fi connection on all off the Hubs it's been on, Samsung is the biggest pain ever, way better cabled but not 100% but that will be more off an age thing with it!

Re: Full fibre 500 poor signal on Sony Bravia tv
@JimM1 I don't think it is a brand issue more the wifi signal each TV can access. Wall mounted TVs are the worst as the sets WiFi aerials are usually behind the panel which contains metal which blocks direct signals so the set is often relying on a relected signal from the wall behind. Given streaming needs a regular data supply a poor signal level which is vulnerable to interference is a recipe for disaster.
Another factor is WiFi not spots are not uncommon in many properties so you get a usable signal on one side of a room but not on the other. My own experience with mesh networks with two or more sources the overall speed does not necessarily improve but the coverage is far more even. However where only one device like a TV or games console are involved powerline seems a no-brainer as it normally provides a signal with lower jitter which is what you want for streaming or on-line gaming.
