Full fibre 100 kit

Our postman has delivered our kit for full fibre 100, all we got was a lead,should there be more stuff ? Thanks in advance

May need a bit more info, based on what you have said then this might help.

 

When you ordered your package, did you have to pick a date for an engineer visit? If there has not been fibre before then an ONT will need to be installed along with the fibre.

 

If you already have an ONT (Small white box on your wall where the fibre plugs in) & you already have one of the newer routers (SR203/SR213) then you will only get an ethernet cable from Sky. 

 

This cable goes from the ONT socket to the WAN socket on the back of your router.

 

The problems start if you have not been at your address long and the previous occupants removed the ONT or its power supply, they should alsways be left in the property, but that does not always happed. Somtimes just the power supply vanishes somtimes the whole thing.

 

If you don't have an ONT then you will need to call sky to let them know Openreach will have to come and install one.

@lulu2004 If you already have a sky Broadband Hub, then that get's used, and the new cable sky sent is for connecting to your new ONT Fibre modem that will be installed for your FF100 package!

Thanks for that, I thought as much, yes we have the hub, they coming to put the box on the outside on 12 nov, will they fit the white box modem at the same time ?

Had sky broadband for ages, did have the white box, but when we upgraded years ago, they sent a new router that plugged into the phone socket, didn't need the white box any more so sent it back to sky with the old router as requested, sky have booked the engineer for the 12 November, shall I get in touch with open reach to tell them I need the white box as well, so they can fit that the same time as the outside box ?

@lulu2004 OR Openreach or if one off there contractors get's assigned the job, and assuming it's a one day one shot installation, they will have everything with them to do the job, 3 items, the fibre cable, the CSP customer Sevice Point thats a box for outside on the wall, and finally a new ONT and it's PSU for internal to the home. Hope it all goes as planned. 

 

Do take sometime to see on the Forum especially about the position off it all, new ONT and the short cable you have got from sky, that limits where the sky Hub is all going to be now, especially if you have it in a good working place now. that just may not be able to be done!

That would have been an (obsolete) Openreach modem for ADSL and FTTC, not an Openreach ONT for FTTP.

That's all scheduled into an FTTP installation so you don't need to contact them.

Thanks, we received the cable in the post, the router will be in the same place, so that's a bonus 😁
