Flashing green PON light on ONT box

My Sky account became active today but the 'PON' light is flashing green and I have no internet. I haven't been able to find a number for tech suppo

Hi @Mediamark 

A flashing green PON light usually means that the ONT or line is still not registered/not activated. You would need to speak to Sky about this. Have you tried going to sky.com/help and then scrolling to the bottom of the page & expanding the 'need more help?' tab?

Hi, thanks for responding. I've spoken to tech support who've said it should be rectified in the next few hours. 🤞🏼

The ONT box has been swapped. The PON light is solid green now but the router cannot connect to the internet. City fibre say there's nothing wrong with the network, Sky are saying there's a fault outside my property. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@Mediamark If you have some time can you compare what you have to the link below. @SkybrokemyBB- has been having an issue with failed 4 weeks now and never worked from the get go. Does have some pictures ONT from CF if you look! Also the sky hub being used!

Hi, thanks for your response. This sounds very much like my situation and is rather alarming. City Fibre swapped the Nokia ONT, which is now showing 3 solid green lights. They are due back on Wednesday.

@Mediamark Do let us know how you visit goes, the other OP @SkybrokemyBB- has now been Deadlocked with sky, told to leave there is nothing else that they can do for him, so contacting CF to see if possible for Vodafone to take over the line and supply BB to him asap, been down hard 4 weeks now but CF is installed, ready to go as far as they are concerned but the sky Hub will just nor kick on and connect to the ONT!

@SkybrokemyBB- Keeping you in the loop, looks like you are just not alone with some CF problems connecting! Does not help you any but may make you feel that little bit better known you are not the only one out there currently!

If I get no joy with Sky, after the CF engineer has been on Wednesday, I'll be looking for another provider or going back to Zen.

I think SKY know they've got compatibility issues but are keeping quiet about it. To add even more salt into the wounds, tonight as I was competing the Ombudsman form, SKY rung me to say they were sorry I was leaving and could they offer me an improved package!!!!

To conclude this sorry state of affairs with SKY. SKY broke my internet and didn't have the inclination or expertise to fix their issue. SKY left us truly high and dry. They continually attempted to blame City Fibre for being unable to connect my broadband. I was forced/ told to seek a new broadband supplier, which thankfully I did. Today Vodafone turned up as planned, plugged in their router and hey presto, it's working perfectly and super fast! So all the garbage from SKY that it wasn't their issue is exactly that, garbage. My claim against SKY currently sits with the Ombudsman, following an insulting offer of compensation from SKY. A huge thanks to Jim and his attempts to help resolve SKY's issues. If SKY ever tell you it's not their issue, don't believe them.

@SkybrokemyBB- At least you now have the Broadband back and working, this new Sky - CF partnership does have a good few unsolved issues and some ostrich response when it does not go right which is unfortunate in your case, we tried, CF tried there best and at least Vodafone pulled you out of the hole! Good luck with the sky fight that's a battle ahead for you!🤣👍

Thanks Jim especially for your above and beyond attempts. City Fibre are to be applauded for all their gallant efforts to resolve the issue, they were right all along, it was SKY's fault not theirs. 

 

The Ombudsman has confirmed that SKY are culpable. Of course they now revert to horse trading mode. You've got to laugh, in SKY's response via the Ombudsman, they state "we'd love you to come back"!!! This after they told us that they didn't know how to fix their problem and categorically told us never to contact them ever again!!! In word Disgusted. Good riddance SKY.

@SkybrokemyBB- There will be a few more going down the route you have taken for sure in the future, fight the fight that's all you can do and it's a see who gives in first but not going to be you!
