Hi, I'm getting sky full fibre installed on the 17th February and I would like to have an ethernet cable go to a bedroom upstairs directly from the broadband as this is a more stable connection for gaming. I spoke to an agent on the phone who said this does not need to be pre-booked and that the engineer will be able to do this on the day as they keep cables in the van. I'm just wondering if this is actually the case as I've had a friend have an engineer come out to do this ans they had to drill a hole into the wall to bring the cable upstairs and it doesn't seem like an easy job. The agent also mentioned this wouldn't be any additional cost. Can someone please confirm for me as I would really like to have this done and I want to make sure I am being informed correctly, thank you!

The agent was incorrect: ethernet cable installation is not a service offered by ISPs or Openreach.
