Fibre install question

Currently have Sky broadband, Sky contacted me and set a date for a free fibre upgrade.

The sky hub is in my attic, connected to the phone line downstairs, have a network switch running network ports in all rooms and a decent AP downstairs.

Im concerned when then turn up they won't be able to set up the new equipment where I need it to be and will want to place it somewhere convenient for them. Anyone had experience with the engineers setting up where you ask?

I won't sign any work orders unless they can accommodate. Also, the neighbours have gone with another company and the wires on the front of the house are awful; they have made a bit of a mess of it, how flexible are the engineers on where the external box goes?

Just had the front of the house worked on and don't want cables all over it really.

Thanks

@CarelessCoder Where does your current line enter the property?  Is the attic a proper room?  Does your line come in at the attic or downstairs?  Openreach will normally run the fibre to the same entry point, at least they did with my installation.

It should be noted they won't do anything that becomes complex installation wise due to time constraints.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@CarelessCoder

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

Re: Fibre install question

Thanks, here is the image https://postimg.cc/n91ppN8T

When I spoke to the Sky sales person they did say if the location of the kit isn't what you expected then reject it.

My phone line comes into the front of the house, through the living room and under my stairs. I run a cable from the consumer unit to the attic behind the walls.

I could run a fibre cable from the same point under the stair to the attic but will be some work to hide the cable under floor boards etc.

Yes attic is a proper room.

thanks for the help all; trying to figure out I've I'm asking too much 😄
