Fibre and using landline
I've just switched over to Sky full Fibre
My Sky Hub router is located in my loft
I would like to continue to have a landline. However, I understand that in order for it to work, it needs to be plugged directly into the hub. Which due to the loft location isn't possible
I also understand a Voice Adaptor won't work with Sky Hub, so isn't an option
Any suggestions?

Re: Fibre and using landline
You could use a DECT system from Gigaset where the base unit doesn't have a handset. Note you'd need their analogue DECT, not VoIP.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Fibre and using landline
Do you have an example?
The ones I'm seeing have base units.
I'd expect there would need to be an adaptor that plugs into the hub, to send a signal to the handset?

Re: Fibre and using landline
Cheapest option would be to run an ethernet cable down from the loft to relocate the router.
Otherwise have a look at Gigaset's web site for phones with a separate black box base station, around the same size as a router. But as @TimmyBGood said, avoid VOIP options. eg
Or just buy a regular DECT set & either share a charger on rotation or look to buying an additional charger from Ebay or similar.

Re: Fibre and using landline
Thanks, I'll look at the DECT options.
I guess I could buy 2 phones. And just use one as the connector to the hub and other and the actual landline in the house
Relocating router isn't an option. I have it up there connected to a mesh network, so a great set up...until copper wires became redundant for landline

Re: Fibre and using landline
If you have a master socket in the loft & extension wiring from that, you could connect that to the router & then the existing extensions will work. You just need to disconnect the incoming pair from the master socket & then connect it to the router with a male to male BT431a cable.
