Hi I have a fibre order in progress, and due to there not being any underground ducting the shared driveway (herringbone) will need to be dug for the ducting to go through. The engineer said they would install a swith box so everyone else in the cul de sac would be ablt o come off it when they wanted fibre in the future.
I am now waiting for Openreach to contact the neighbours for permission to dig. I've spoken to them all and explained the situation and they all seemed on board but I wondered how they are contacted? Is it a call, a letter or knock at the door in person contact? I don't want to have to keep pestering them to make sure they've sent back what they need too but if they have to send something back in a set time period I may have to. Not to mention next door is now in a home and the ladies daughter comes by every other day and one of the other neighbours are moving in November.
Also if for some reason it didn't/couldn't go ahead I am hoping I would just stay on and keep my current copper connection?
If you made it this far thank you 🙂

Its usually done via a wayleave which would be sent in letter form to any land owner affected. They would need to fill this out and send it back to Openreach.
As for your existing connection, yes until permission can be had and work commenced you would just remain on your copper connection.

Thanks for the reply James. So when they send these wayleaves, do you know if there is a time period on when they need to be sent back by? I signed the engineers tablet when he was here so I'm guessing I won't get one of these letters so I know that the neighbours would have received theres?

If it doesnt you could also use the contact form on Openreaches site to see if they can answer any questions on it.

Do you have a link to the Openreach contact form as I can't find anything on their site. I just wish you could call them but you can't apparently.
I would just love to be able to talk to someone who could update or give progress on the process, as just getting messages from Sky with basic details isn't very helpful.

I also haven't been able to find any posts online with anyone in the same or similar position as myself either which is frustrating.
