Feedback on broadband order and estimated upload speed
Hi Sky,
The long and short of it: Stated estimate upload speed says different things in different Sky documents.
I've had a confusing experience ordering broadband.
I went to the postcode checker page, saw Gigafast, it said estimated upload speed up to 947 Mbps, so I placed the order.
I went and told some people about the great deal I got, and they said "There's no way you get that upload speed, it will be 90 Mbps, upload speed is always slower".
So I went to my account page, under 'Contracts', opened 'Your Sky Broadband and Sky Talk contract' document, and sure enough, it says:
'Sky Full Fibre Gigafast: 90Mbps' in the 48 page contract.
I thought, am I going crazy? Have I been scammed by Sky? I called to cancel immediately. They did so without any questions, so kudos.
Out of curiosity, I went to my account page to try and find that 947 Mbps number I swear I saw when I ordered. Under 'Documents', there's another contract-type document named 'A breakdown of your Sky Broadband and Talk order'. Well, in here, it does in fact say 947 Mbps.
I called up to confirm if this would be the case, and they said yes, so I asked to re-place my order and they assisted in doing so.
I recommend this is looked into. When I originally cancelled, the retention people did not correct me when I said 'I made a mistake and didn't realise the upload speed is only 90 Mbps'. Possibly pointing to a greater issue at large.

If city fibre are in your area and so long as sky have their own equipment (msan) at the exchange then sky will contract cityfibreto install hence the symmetrical speeds

Re: Feedback on broadband order and estimated upload speed
I thought as much. Whatever auto-populates the contract is getting the wrong info in that regard. Cheers.
And thanks @caesarome, I'll forward this to support somehow. Apologies.
