FTTC digital switchover and options
I am currently on FTTC on the Sky Fibre Max package, synced at 80/20. Below are some details about my current situation.
I have had Sky Broadband for more than 10 years. First, I was on Sky Fibre Unlimited and then I was eventually upgraded to Sky Fibre Max. I know that the PSTN is being switch off in 2027.
I currently have a Sky Q Hub - model ER110 and I am out of contract with Sky. I am in a Full Fibre priority exchange area and if I recontracted with Sky they would probably want me to switch to full fibre.
What are my options regarding the digital switchover and full fibre. How long might I have before I will have to switch? I am asking this due to the deadline of 2027. I currently only have access to FTTP via Openreach. And there is not sign of altnets being available in the next 12 months. I have not been invited to upgrade to FTTP via email, letter etc. And for what its worth, I am a Sky VIP.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.
Thank you.

Currently if you switch ISP or change broadband technology (typically FTTC to FTTP) then the change to VoIP telephony happens automatically as part of the process.
It's unclear how the millions of customers who aren't going to choose to do either of those things between now and January 2027 will be moved off PSTN: part of this is the replacement of all non-voice-capable routers which is why Q Hubs are being swapped out this year.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: FTTC digital switchover and options
@skyuser247 Look at it this way, priority fibre exchange, the PSTN network craps out on Monday, there will be no rush to get it sorted, that's why OR are phasing out the old equipment, all the OLD comes from those that are already priority exchanges, when the old is gone it's gone for good, it's all holding together on a wing and a prayer!
Yes Fibre has it's problems without a doubt, but at least the equipment is new modern and currently available for the next X years period!
Just keep paying the price, look to get that old ER110 changed free of charge by sky before Dec2025 link below for that, and if you do decide to change in any way FTTP is the only choice you will have, copper is dead and OR will see to that without a doubt!
