FTTC & VOIP

I have moved to a property which only has sky super fast 35 on FTTC. Sky advised me it would be VOIP telephony for my landline.  I have a number and the broadband is live and working fine.

The landline won't work and now today sky say it's  a known issue and as a workaround you need to keep unplugging the  router for 10 mins to get a landline dialling tone to receive or make calls.

This is what they text me to say "Disconnecting the Hub for 10 minutes causes the IPv6 address to renew and service to return temp work around"

Surely this can't be right, anyone any knowledge.

@jasonuk1975

If Sky have given you the information then its likely to be correct. Sounds like they have an equipment issue in your area as I know not everyone is affected by this.
