Error cancellation letter?

I recently upgraded my broadband with Sky and yesterday received a letter saying  'we're sorry you've decided to cancel your Sky Talk and Broadband' that they've been notified by another provider that I've cancelled my services on the following number .....

Why would i get such a letter? The services are all still working  but It's causing stress with my elderly parents whose personal alarms are reliant on the phone.

@DeeC1

The account holder needs to call Sky asap. It's possible someone has applied for Broadband with a different provider and has included your house number in error or an incorrect postcode.

Re: Error cancellation letter?

@DeeC1 Deal with it NOW and have sky refuse the takeover, if you do not then there will be nothing else you can do and lose everything, mistakes happen but you have to get onto it quickly, surprised you did not get an e-mail also....

Re: Error cancellation letter?

Update, just phoned them on your advice. Apparently as I upgraded to  new Sky  fibre broadband it's provided by a different supplier but still under Sky. I've lodged a complaint about the wording of the letter and the distress to caused to my parents.

Thanks for help

Re: Error cancellation letter?

@DeeC1 100% hope that the personal alarms are all taken into account and NOT slipped through the Full Fibre or Digital net, that is normally an INSTANT block you DO NOT get, serious potential issue!!!
