EV charger

I'm having issues connecting my EV charger. They have advised the below, can you please help:

'Could you also ensure your WIFI is set to 2.4GHz  The Wi-Fi module in the charger is not compatible with 5GHz bands. If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one network name (SSID), you may need to temporarily split them in your router settings to ensure the charger connects to the 2.4GHz frequency, if you cannot find this in your WIFI setting your network provider can split the signal for you.'

Re: EV charger

Interested in hearing the result of this question. I too are looking to install a Hypervolt Charger and it has the same comment around 2.4ghz only and need to ensure it will conect to my Sky max hub.

@Hogger most modern devices can connect to a dualband SSID but only use one bsnd to communicate for example current Ring devices do this. If however your new charger will not connect the procedure is to go into the My Skyy app find the hub's advanced settings and temporarily turn off the 5GHz band connect the device and turn the 5GHz signal back on and the device should stay connected.

Before getting an EV charger installed check the WiFi signal level ideally using a WiFi Analyzer app on a phone but as arough guide you can use the phone's signal indicator. Thesecdays smart chargers with poor connectivity are a common issue people post about

Re: EV charger

I have been unable to connect my ev charger to WiFi, it only works of 2.4ghz. I have tried everything to sort it, but does not show up to get connected to it. I did try to disconnect the 5ghz but lost all my internet for 2days and still not connected
