It appears units without the ethernet port are designated SE210A

Ah, nearly bought the SE210a - thanks for sending me that.

 

So looks like I need the older box (SE210) that has the ethernet port

I had a TP link extender with an ethernet port - just thought I'd try it out and I'll be damned, it works!  Amazon sent me out the wrong one so sent it back, and I've saved myself £75!

We used a cat7, and resolved the issue with a tp link extender
