Domain blocked

For some reason it seems I have had access to a domain blocked. It's nothing illegal it's a football chat site. I have accessed it for 20 years no problem then all of a sudden I can't access it through my wifi router. I can access it elsewhere on other internet as available including my daughters Sky broadband. I can also get access via 4G but for some reason my home access is denied or corrupted. Any suggestions.

If you have Sky Broadband Shield activated then have you tried changing the age setting on it to see if you can then access it:

What is the exact message you get when trying to access the site on your Sky broadband?

Likely a routing issue which you may find will be solved by acquiring a new public IP address by switching off or disconnecting the connection via the router interface. To acquire a new public address via the switch-off router route it needs to be left off for about half an hour.

Then it is likely that Sky is blocking the site for some unknown reason on your area connection. You could try changing the DNS server on the device concerned or contacting Sky and asking them why they are blocking the site.

@mae-3 & @KeithC95 it won't be an intentional block which are only applied after a court order. On occasions there are issues with the radius servers managing the connection which normally can be avoided by a lengthy power hub down - Sky say an hour - or by adding a public DNS service to your devices network settings. Google's on 8.8.8.8and 8.8.4.4 work for me.

Re: Domain blocked

From the sounds, the block is owing to an out-of-date resolver with that domain not listed for Sky customers on that single resolver. Sky isn't the best for updating their resolvers quickly or fixing them for that matter...

Re: Domain blocked

Some sort of issue at Sky's end and Google's if you tried their DNS server resolver! Try Quad9's resolver, 9.9.9.9 which is pretty good. And use dnsleaktest.com to see if Sky are proxying DNS.

Re: Domain blocked

I really appreciate you taking the time to help

mecresolve my issues but yet again nothing suggested has worked. I am not greatly skilled technically so gonna have to leave it that when I want to acccess the site I will just use a vpn. It's something to do with my router as I asked my son in law to try when he was here and had same result. No access internet but access via 4G and VPN
