Do I need to Plug into Main Line into Property?

My Main Line for the phone comes into a utility closet with no power socket in the closet.  Is it possible to plug the broadband hub into the Phone line in the reception room, although it is not the Main?

@JasonK

If the socket in the cupboard is a filtered Master socket (which will have a pair of different sizes ports on it) then no other socket at the address will be receiving a broadband signal.

@JasonK Depends totally on your Phone connection and cable from one to the other, also if you are on a digital line connection, where does the landline phone plug into if you use or where to use one! OR Master socket wired correctly on a digital line then ALL extension socket's will be DEAD!

@JasonK You are going to have to take a few pictures and upload them, just too much guessing, longer VDSL cable move you hub to where you want it, or just try plugging it in to the other socket!
