Do I need a landline

As my sky bill is quite high, I wondered if it is necessary to have a landline for sky broadband

The landline is included in the price and a broadband line is necessary for delivery of the broadband whether over a copper pair or full-fibre.

Conventional broadband requires a data bearer, either copper or optical, and rental of this circuit is included in the monthly broadband subscription fee.  Advice to 'reduce cost by cancelling an unused landline' is therefore rather misleading.

Sky Broadband is bundled with a voice call service, but unless outbound calls are made or the user opts for a call bundle there's no charge for this.
