I have full fibre 300 and to be honest I was expecting downloads of about 300 into my computer by direct cable to my router. I only get 96Mb/sec download measured by all known apps. When Sky tests my connection is reports 303Mb/sec. so why is my router losing 207Mb/sec and throttling my signal?

Sounds like devices are connected to 100mb ethernet ports?

Thanks Giggsy Am I right in thinking that I xhould get close to 300Mb when connected by Cat 6 cable to my computer?

Cat6 cables carry up to 10gbps over distances up to 55 metres so yep, should def be getting 300mbps connected via ethernet.
It might be the cable if only two pairs are connected, it might be a setting in the router (fast ethernet and gigabit ethernet, you want the latter) or it could be the device you're connected to has an ethernet port limited to 100mbps (televisions for example usually are).
If you're getting 96mbps, that's close to 100mbps with some network overheads taken into account so I think it's one of the three above.
