Digital boadband

Hi,  we had a phone call from sky as my area is changing to digital boardband soon.  I agreed to change. Today 2 cables arrived grey one black.  Do i need these cables to change to digital when my boadband changes?

Broadband has always been digital.  I suspect they mean the switch from analogue to digital voice calls (where the telephone handset or DECT base station plugs into a dedicated socket on the rear of the internet router)

This applies to both copper and fibre circuits because the analogue telephone service (PSTN) is due to be discontinued nationally in January 2027.

@Digitalsoon  Do you mean Full Fibre rather than digital broadband ?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Once FTTP has been installed an ethernet cable is required to link the Hub (Sky router) to the new Optical Network Terminal ('fibre modem')

Re: Digital boadband

We are not able to get full fibre yet in our village.  We were told that we need to change our broadband to go digital

I don't know why they send cables in this situation: the key switchover is the replugging of the telephone handset which I mentioned above.
