Digital Voice over - handset 2
My elderly mother had broadband installed yesterday as they are getting rid of copper lines. The base unit handset is working fine but the second unit has no dial tone and says line in use. I have tried trouble shooting but nothing has worked.
Do you think this is a broadband or handset issue. Working fine before broadband installed?
Any advice greatly appreciated

Re: Digital Voice over - handset 2
If she still has it connected to the original wall telephone socket other handsets will no longer work.
If that's the case the simplest solution would be to purchase cordless DECT phones. The base station phone plugs into the Hub. You then place additional linked handsets wherever she wants in the house.
They just need to be near a normal plug socket. They then are automatically linked to the base station phone.

Thanks for coming back to me. Her orginal landline has been disconnected. She has two cordless phones. The base unit working no problem its the one in another room. I have moved it beside the base unit but didnt make any difference. Have tried resetting, registering and unplugging. There is no dial tone but eventually comes up with a message "line in use"

@PMCGEMCG any cordless DECT phone needs to be registered to the base station which if you buy a kit is already done when you boughtthem. However if you bought two separate models it is unlikely that will work but you would need to check with the manufacturer of the phones.
