Device connection

Hi Guys,

Revently moved to sky and having awful issues with devices staying connrcted to the broadband. Phones do not automatically connect and dont remeber the wifi details. Regularly saying the password is incorrect and wont connect at all (the correct password has been input)

I have had a new router and an engineer out but the problem persists.

I have changed wap settings to suit older devices, disabled shield, absolutely everything I can think of. Anybody else had this prob and were able to resolve it?

@Bettyl there are settings on your phones which can help but exactly what they are called varies by operating system. However essentially tell the phones to trust the Sky connection and to connect automatically when in range.. Also go into the mobilecdata setting and disable a setting called something like wifi assist which means the phone will stay connected tomthecwifi even though the mobikecsignal offers a faster connection.

Hopefully those should help.

Re: Device connection

Hi Chrisee.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of these things. It will work for a few days & then the same thing again, it disconnects & says the password is wrong, even though it's right. After a period of time; could be hours or days, it allows connection again

@Bettyl that is very strange. Phones showing incorrectvpasswords even though it has been entered correctly can happen as the password memory can get screwed in the casectell the phone to forget the connection and rrboot the phone before adding it again.

Passwords on Sky hubs dont spontaenously change on their own so is it possible somebody has access to the hub's settings and playing around? If you suspect that change both the WiFi and admin passwords as explained here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/find-and-change-your-wireless-password
