Copper broadband stopped working
Hi
Our broadband has been on and off for a few days, only an hour or so at a time, when testing it via the mysky app, it was a local outage both times. This morning it went off completely and all day. I jumped on the live chat and spoke to sky who basically said they can't do anything as it's not full fibre and we need to upgrade to full fibre, started giving us prices and said we need city fibre out to install. The price offered per month was very high, so I said not to bother, so we are still without internet.
The internet led on the router was initially amber, this now isn't lit up at all. The app says that our router isn't detected, as though it isn't plugged in, even though it is.
Any help much appreciated.
Many thanks.

Rubbish. You need to call again and hopefully speak to an agent that's not just in sales mode. You're still entitled to a repair.

Re: Copper broadband stopped working
That was a load of nonsense that you were told on the chat.
Have you tried a reboot of your broadband router at the mains and after it has powered back up if you still have now orking connection then see if you can now run this line test:

Re: Copper broadband stopped working
Broadband over an FTTP circuit is almost always going to be more reliable than data squeezed into digital signalling over copper phone pairs which Alexander Graham Bell would recognise.
WiFi from a white Max Hub, unfortunately, is not so robust, as repeated posts to this forum demonstrate.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

I can confirm our internet was up for a day or so, now it's off again. Can't contact sky via the live chat, not really in a position to be calling them and waiting in a queue, it's a Saturday evening and we have no broadband again. This is after a "successful" engineer referral. Poor.

That is the best option to speak to an agent and get an engineer arranged.
