Connection issues - MS Teams and online videogames

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Sky Full Fibre 150 on the Sky Broadband Hub 4.2. However, this has caused issues with Microsoft Teams breaking up during video calls and being unable to connect to some videogame servers. My previous NowTV router had no issues.

I have tried connecting via an ethernet cable, using WiFi boosters, and using a seperate computer, without success. However, the MS Teams app seems to run calls fine on my mobile phone.

Strangely, I am receiving very fast speeds on both ethernet and WiFi (149.66 Mbps on both). My OS is Windows 11.

I am not using a VPN and am a single person household so there is not much demand for broadband.

Any help would be much appreciated!

@AlasdairL96 if this is a new Sky connection check the setting of Sky's Broadband Shield as by default it is set to block certain traffic to protect kids. See https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-broadband-shield-start on how to change the setting.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, but unfortunately no luck.

I should also add that I have spoken to Sky support, who posted a replacement router - this also did not work.

Sky’s SR203/SR204 hubs have known IPv6 routing issues affecting Microsoft 365 services. You can disable IPv6: On your laptop (Windows: Network Adapter → Properties → uncheck IPv6) Or in the Sky Hub admin page (if available on your model)

Many thanks. In the end, I switched to Vodafone and while I initially had the same issue, they then changed the frequency on the router to a less busy frequency which fixed the issue. I suspect this would have also solved it under Sky, but Sky Support never suggested it as a solution.
