Connection issue since switching my broadband

Ever since I switched my contract to a new better one whith a higher speed and parental control, I started having issues with my wifi connection - it dropps a number of times a day, does not download even a simple spreadsheet if I am working on my laptop, and generally very slow. When I run a wifi test it is showing it is good, but at the same time I can not even watch a video or connect to youtube on my TV or laptop. It is very disappointing to say the least and I work from home which adds further issues.
