Connecting TPlink Archer be230

Currently have the Sky Broadband Hub (SR203) but it can't do all the network tasks and demands for our household. I'm planning to connect the TPlink Archer be230 to act as the wi-fi router and have the Sky Broadband Hub run as the modem.

Can anyone confirm if they have had success doing the same or am I going to have issues trying to network these?

Not interested in changing the Sky package as I'd rather own the hardware and have better customization.

Thanks for any info!

@Edswa  Essentially you could have the Sky hub connected it would end up with a double nat

The hub doesn't have a modem mode.

I have my draytek router on the IP range 192.168.1.0

As long as the hubs IP address is in the range 192.168.0.1 you should be ok.

Personally I don't have the Sky hub connected as the draytek can work with Sky's DHCP Option 60/61..  It's kept around for trouble shooting if it's needed, but I have had it connected to the wan port of the draytek to check some settings.

I only removed it as it doesn't play well with drayteks DNS address on the router as that needs the external IP to work and connecting the Sky hub only give the draytek the internal IP.  I have a DNS address for accessing my router rather than the IP address.

If that's not an issue for you or you need it to use Sky Talk landline then just connect the Sky hub to the WAN port of your router.
