I want to switch from BT to Sky Fibre. I have an existing ONT at front of house and my router is in another room and connected to a plug on the wall. If I get a Sky Router, do I plug it into the existing wall plug, or do I have to fiddle with ONT as the instructions say? I have called Sky twice and cannot get a clear answer.

That advice would typically be correct, but in this case it appears you have in-wall ethernet cable between the locations, so there's no difference plugging in at the far end as long as it's a single contiguous and unswitched pathway to the other.

If the BT Hub works in that location then a Sky Hub should do too, on the end of an existing ethernet cable.
The 'plug on the wall' is presumably either an ethernet port or a Powerline adapter.

A photograph of each end might be useful to clarify.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I am not being clear. Do I just plug Sky Ethernet Cable into same socket as my BT router is connected in my sitting room?

Probably, yes, but without knowing what that socket is it's difficult to be sure: such a set-up is certainly possible, but unusual.

Here is a picture. The red end cable is from the BT router. Would I just plug the Sky router cable into the same place?
Thanks

That's an ethernet cable, so presumably the ONT is at the other end of it. The Sky Hub should work in the same way.

Okay, thanks. I could not elicit this info from Sky, who kept saying I had to connect the router directly to the ONT box.
