Connecting Alexa to the new Sky hub

Hi,

I have upgraded to an Amazon Echo  4th Generation but it won't connect to my new Sky hub. I have tried to separate the two wifi bands (.2.4 & 5.0) but the Echo still won't pick up the wifi connection even if it less than 5 metres away from the router.

Does anyone have any fresh ideas to get the Echo up and runnig please?

@Bonnerboy

The 4th Gen echo has dual band WiFi capabilities so it shouldnt have a problem connecting to the Sky hub without splitting the WiFi bands. What exactly is the message in the Alexa app when you try to connect it? It could be that the unit is faulty

Re: Connecting Alexa to the new Sky hub

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

It says simply that it cannot connect to WiFi. The app suggests trying again but it doesn't ever connect.

I have tried using my phone to connect via Bluetooth as suggested by the app but that doesn't work either!

I have spoken to the customer service team at Amazon and follow their steps but to no avail.

@Bonnerboy

I would request a replacement/return. It would be the best way to confirm the issue isnt with the unit and it is your WiFi.

Re: Connecting Alexa to the new Sky hub

Hello I am also having this problem with my 4th generation echo dot. My 1st generation one is fine works perfectly!! Amazon sent me a new one and I still have the problem. Sky suggested its because it takes up too much bandwidth on par with my sons  box? Did anyone find a solution?
