Compensation for delayed broadband upgrade
I decided to upgrade my current sky broadband in June to full fibre, and was given an activation date of the 18th July. Due to tech issues with Openreach and a dig being required, I have finally had my upgrade completed today - 7th November. In this time I have already received compensation for 2 cancelled appointments. Am I right in saying I am also entitled to compensation for delayed provisions, for this period? Thanks

Re: Compensation for delayed broadband upgrade
@HelenPa1 Would be best for you to have a look at your inital document that sky sent to you, delayed provisioning is open to a 90 day period!

Yes, I've just checked my contract. Does mention the 90 days. Says should be activated by 16th Sept at the latest. In which case compensation would start from this date. Would you agree?

Re: Compensation for delayed broadband upgrade
@HelenPa1 It's all a bit off a grey area but i sure do agree, neighbour is going through the exact same with sky just now, order was Sept2024, installed end Jun2025, and then phone line stuffed for another month once the Fibre was installed and the new SR203 was fitted and moved, thankfully all else was good, and last week i asked how she was doing with it all, still no further forward with sky, but it would be a huge amount off compensation as you see with the dates involved above! If i hear anything will let you know.
I take the tact they can only do what is possible, if OR say NO then sky are noy going to be out off pocket with it, no margins to do so.
Hope your Fibre is going good, i know i cannot say anything bad so far on the sky FF500 connection touch wood!👍

Re: Compensation for delayed broadband upgrade
@HelenPa1 Just managed to speak with the neighbour, the compo is ongoing with sky, claim was rejected at sky's end they are saying it is an OR issue so blaming each other OR/Sky, if OR will not stump up then there is no way sky will pay out it is that simple! She is not letting it go though as it is a substantial amount off compensation involved! Sure not going to be resolved in a quick timely manner! Claim is Jan25/Jun25/Jul25 with the phone issue and all after the 90 day grace period and when sky commited to the let's get it all done, she has BB/Talk International/Sky Q and mini so is fully commited to sky system, not too fussed with the timescale that will be involved but sure is a little p'd off with the whole debacle!
Apart from that it is all working fine so at least happy that way!

Re: Compensation for delayed broadband upgrade
Auto compensation is between openreach and off on all that sky do is deliver the payment to the customer
openreach have a get out of jail free card with auto comp, they only have to pay compensation if the order is delayed after they have accepted it, so if they managed to identify that dig work is required before accepting the order they don't not need to pay compensation. Also if they move the installation date in advance of it then they do not need to pay
