Hi - I have had an engineer round today to sort our broadband speed as it was poor given I have FTTP.
He has done all sorts (that I dont understand) including seperating the 2.4ghz and 5ghz. So in effect I now have 2 wifi networks.
The guy told me to change all the heavy use devices such as Xbox and Sky Mini's to the 5ghz. I am struggling to change the minis as when you set up th network all you do it press the WPS buttong on the mini and the main router and it automatically connects to the 2.4ghz. How do I change this as the Sky Mini's now keep freezing
Thx

If you intend to keep the wireless bands unsynchronized then disable the 2.4Ghz temporarily then WPS the Sky Q mini boxes, then reenable the 2.4Ghz wireless band and see if that works.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhen the WiFi bands are split the Q minis will automatically connect to the 2.4ghz band and use 5ghz as a backhaul. This is intended behaviour and I dont believe you can change it.

Couldn't that be fixed in firmware? 😎

What Sky need is a brand-new router that fixes all the issues, the community can dream of that day! 😎
