Hi there,
Just got my new router from Sky today (its a SR213A-02-UK-wht). I want to change a few settings (network name, wifi passkey, etc..). I connect to the router using a browser and the 192.168.0.1 address, login access the WiFi menu and face a message "To edit your Wi-Fi Network Name & Network password, please download the My Sky app." Of course the app can only be installed on a phone. I don't want to install yet another app on my phone (that is old and doesnot work so well) and would like to do that straight from my browser. Is that possible? If not, why do we have to go through the app? I find this a bit annoying and wondered whether there is a way around it.
Thank you very much!
Antoine

Administering smart hardware is increasingly moving to in-app because it's getting harder to convince web browsers to talk to devices with self-signed SSL certificates: realistically it's also how more people now expect to do such things.

Re: Change WiFi Passkey
@AnPL Were you with sky before and on the older Sky Broadband Hub? Looks the same as your sky Max but it is black in colour!

Re: Change WiFi Passkey
@AnPL unfortunately the only way to administer the Sky Max hub is via the My Sky app it is not possible via the My Sky website or via the hub's web interface.

Re: Change WiFi Passkey
it somehow makes sense, and I guess it increases security as I need to be logged in the app to do the changes? Thank you for the answer.

Re: Change WiFi Passkey
Despite what the rest have already put here you can log in to the hub via a browser and control the hubs advanced settings through it.
The default gateway credentials I have found to be successful to login to the Hub and control it via a browser is the username of "admin" and using the WiFi password/passkey printed on the bottom of the hub.
After contacting support as well as searching online other credentials offered were a combination of "sky" / "admin" for username and "sky" / default WiFi password printed on the device as the password.
If the credentials don't work or get refused as being incorrect, try resetting the router back to default by holding down the WPS button on the side for 30 seconds and waiting for the Hub to reboot and show a static white led on the front before trying again.

Re: Change WiFi Passkey
@McOoie thst only works before the hub has been fully added to the My Sky app at shich point you lose the ability to efirt settings beyond turning UPNP on in the. Web interface. The hub has to be added to the app to be ablecto add tge pod extenders rtc.
