Yeah I had all that done last year and was on 900mb , had the ont box installed wifi max hub etc.

 A guy came out last week and said we can upgrade you to full fibre which im sure I was already on and he said no your on part copper part fibre and I can dave you £17 a month and your speed will be better and more consistent quoting 930mb. 

  My speed hovers around 900mb which is what I was getting before ive got the same WiFi max router and nobody has changed any cabling either.

 The only thing ive noticed is before I was able to split my WiFi channels so I could have 2.4 and 5ghz separate when you search for WiFi and because the guy got me to hard reset my router ive lost the ability to split the channels to display seperately.

 And the not updating playstore so in actual fact ive lost stuff rather than gained anything apart from £17 a month.

@Daveyboii570 With the sky Max hub then you should in theory NEVER have been able to split the bands unless it was an early version, was not tied to sky and they had never forced any FW updates on the Hub.

The whole gambit of the matching ssid same name same for both bands is the combined throughput off a capable device that can do it to an equally capable hub, that includes wired and wireless wi-fi signal, take a look at the picture below although not a sky hub to what can be achieved, and this is low compaired to earlier when wired backhaul....

What can be done!

I have a good solid connection to my broadband & I've done all the tests. That state there is no issue. However none of our devices connected to the broadband can download any apps from the Google play store but if I turn off the WiFi I can download the apps via mobile data. I've been through a million settings & can't find out why. Any help will be much appreciated.

@myrover45 If you happen to be in the Midlands area etc, there are a good few post's so stop trying to do it, there is a potential issue at present and you are wasting your time! Not sure if that is what will be your case, but i checked last night, downloaded 9 apps, installed all fine, but do live North off the border.!

Im not sure but I was also able to change the ssid names through the router but now everything is done through the my sky app to rename ssid but not option to split channels and also could change ssid password through router now its only through my sky app.

 There must have been something pushed through because the whole layout has changed and less options and now tells me to go onto the app to do certain stuff.

@Daveyboii570 That is the way 100% everything you do or need to do has to be controlled through the mobile app that sky use and for that Sky Max hub, THERE is NO choice what so ever!

I dont know but I had split them unless it didnt take effect until the upgrade which is my other annoyance so my wifi speeds to my phone the higher one is before the switch and the lower is what I get now I wouldnt say i had upgraded

The 667 is the most ive got out of the new connection after upgrade 

If you google splitting the channels on max router it says it cant be done but if you scroll to the sky post just underneath the search it tells you how to do it on the max router so they must have removed the option at some point.

Google is right and you cannot split, that is the fact! When it happened was shortly after sky sorted and decided that was the way it is and going to be from this day forward.

Not many allow now so most ISP are the same, independent third party hubs/routers do as you wish leave it to the user to decide!

Split still works for the old SR203 black version, and on my Asus got all three bands split out no problem and working as expected!

Same problem here reported to sky been told somebody might look at it in 7 days or longer in walsall west mids

Same issue walsall reported to sky and its been escalated but he said 7 days maybe longer before anyone looks at it so if your having problems report to sky the more users report the more it gets pushed through the right channels to be sorted.
