Cannot use laptops in the house

We are experiencing now for the third week where we cannot have a stable connection to zoom and teams for working from home. My husband is remote and relies on a stable and strong connection.

I have prioritized his laptop for wifi, paused other devices, and nothing has helped.

When I check the mySky app nothing appears wrong and still having strong signal. We need this rectified as soon as possible and a permanent solution to this issue.

Re: Cannot use laptops in the house

It turned out to be our new tv causing the problems. I reset the wifi router and our laptops started working well again. I then tried the tv which I had to log back into the WiFi. The signal isn't as strong on our tv but it's something we are okay with that our other devices are with the stronger wifi.

We're only other customers here, like yourself.

Have you started with the obvious which is to contact your employers IT department?

Are you using a VPN service? Which one?

Re: Cannot use laptops in the house

I regularly work in office and work from home in the mornings. I do not experience these issues outside the house and on various WiFi's.

my computer uses global protect VPN issued by my company.

Re: Cannot use laptops in the house

It's not an issue with our employers. It's that our wifi cannot handle being on zoom or teams calls. We receive statuses saying our internet connection is unstable or the calls drop.

@Emily245 run a speed test on the laptop in its usual position. Teams etc require under 10Mb/s but are sensitive to interference and packet loss which can be caused by a flaky WiFi link especially if affected by interference. Occasionally rdbooting the hub will clear interference is being causedby a neighbour's WiFi. In thecend though improving WiFi is the only long term solution assuming using Etgernet is impractical.
