Started on the 'Message us' route which is not really messaging at all, but a chat. Gave up after waiting about half an hour for an agent.
Next I tried email. They said they'd get back within about 5 days. I managed to miss both calls. They apparently need to speak to me to verify stuff. Trouble is I don't get calls these days, the only ones I do get are spam. Family use whatsapp. So I avoid answering unknown numbers, and since I normally use messaging I'm terrible at answering calls anyhow. They've closed that ticket because they're unable to get hold of me, and now want me to open a new one.
Today I'm back on the chat. Started 14:45, it's now 15:41, I'm still in a queue.
It seems that unlike the banks, where there's a secure messaging system where I can send a messages as an authenticated user, there's no such thing with Sky.
Before I go the paper route on this one, and send them recorded delivery letter to cancel, I noticed this:
(removed)
Where it talks about
"Logging in will also let you fill in a dedicated cancellation form"
Anyone know of a link to that? Is that info out of date?
thanks in advance!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreDo you have Sky talk? If you do, just dial 150 and when the specially trained laptop says what's wrong today, just say cancel whichever service it is you want to cancel.
If not, a quick google for Sky customer service number will throw a few up, usually starting with 03xxxx
Sky generally do not deal with cancellations and such like via email etc, and as far as I'm aware do not even have an email department for customers to contact directly.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@EricModrobon thst link is basically accurate as people do not need to cancel with Sky if they are moving to another ISP who uses the Openreach network as the gaining provider handles dealing with Sky. If however you are moving to another supplier who has their own network like Virgin Media then you need to call to cancel.
Calling today will be grim its 4 weeks from Christmas, the day after Black Friday when Sky offer their best deals and its after a period of bad weather doubt tge lines can get any busier. You can cancel by writing to them , email wont work, but be prepared for it to take an age to get sorted and your payments to be refunded.
