Cancelling a broadband switch

I requested to move from Sky to BT without realising i had another year left on my broadband contract. Last Sunday i called Sky a week ago and they advised me to call BT to cancel the order then call Sky back, which I did. The initial call handler passed me to a man called Derek, in the UK, and he advised me they need to wait for BT to cancel the takeover from their end. He sent me a text on Monday to say there had been no change and has text me this morning so say BT still haven't cancelled the switch. So I've called BT back and they confirmed the cancellation went through last Sunday and there's no one touch switch pending. Called Sky back and the call handler was apparently physically unable to pass me to Derek or his team although I knew he was working and I explained he is dealing with my case. She is now going to pass me back tomorrow and pass me to another department, who are closed today, but I really don't have much faith this will get resolved. I feel like a piggy in the middle between Sky and BT and this is causing me a great deal of anxiety that I'll loose my broadband completely come the switch date and Sky will charge me £120 for the privilege, which frankly i can't afford. Can anyone help me ?
