I had an open Reach engineer fit ultra fast bb today.
I changed the password on my admin page, had no problem accessing the page at that time.
Suddenly, the WiFi went off on my phone for a minute or so, then came back on. After this I could not access the admin page no matter what I did.
I reset the router....twice.
I unplugged and reset the router and reset my phone.
The sign in details for WiFi went back to default but I still can't access the admin page. I've tried everything. Resetting devices, tried the old admin password, tried different browsers, I'm completely locked out of the admin page whatever details I enter.
After the WiFi just disconnecting for a short time on it's own then everything changing after that I'm worried now that someone has accessed the page and is doing something to the settings while I can't get into it.
I'm worried about security anyway in general and this is worrying me more.
I did get the page that said not secure but I pressed continue. Now it just goes to the page but won't let me log in.
I have read somewhere about changing IP address/ changing DNS server etc. But why would that suddenly happen when it gave me access earlier?
Also, can Sky check if someone has had access to your admin page?
Even if they had and they changed the password, a reset should change that. Unless they are doing it very quickly or they have done something to the settings so that I just can't log in?
I've never had this before and I've changed passwords before, with the other WiFi package.
Can anyone help me please I'm no good with this kind of thing and I'm convinced I'm hacked now, after the WiFi on my phone suddenly going off then coming back on.
How can I get some security with this?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Dido9 to reset a Sky hub to its factory settings you have to press in the reset pin in until the power led flashes which takes at least 10 seconds and sometimes longer. If you release before that and the hub just reboots which sounds to be what has happened to you.
The admin log in account user is admin and that cannot be changed. The admin password can be changed but remains as the default wifi password on the label when you change the wifi password as they are different fields. To change the admin password go to Maintenance/Set password but note the password rules which require you use a complex password. The reset procedure above always returns the hub to the settings on the label
Hope that helps

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I did change admin password already as well as my WiFi password and I know this because I used them both after changing them.
I also know that the reset worked because after I'd reset the router my devices had to be logged in again with my original default password.
However, the issue is that I cannot log in the admin router page with either of these. I've tried the new changed password, the default password, sky's generic SKY***** password. I've tried new browsers, clearing all caches and data, flushing dns, I've tried everything. It seems that I'm just locked out. I do get a 401 unauthorized, authorisation required page. Do Sky ever lock you out of the admin page for security reasons if you try the wrong password too many times?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Dido9 Sky are not blocking you the password is dimply not being enteredd correctly. The admin password is the Wifi password the line starting SKY.... is the SSID you need to use the string on the line below that is the password but it is case sensitive.

No, they just don't work. None of them do. I've reset the router a few times now. And even if my own details don't work admin and SKY or SKY***** should work. They don't. Like I said I've tried everything. I appreciate you trying to help, though. But whatever I.enter, it's not working. I have the actual SKY password card in my hand as I enter the details. I'm entering it correctly.
I'll just have to call them.
Thanks

Just to update, the hub went off on it's own and back on again and then I was able to access it with admin and default WiFi password. ! So I don't know, strange. Maybe I just hadn't reset it properly in the first place, as you said. Anyway I got into it in the end !!:Thanks 👍
