Can Sky engineers do entire installation?
Hi all,
I'm moving from Virgin to Sky Full Fibre with an expected appointment/activation of Feb 26th.
Was made aware when I booked that a 'grey box' would be installed outside prior to the appointment. However, I've heard nothing from Openreach and this work has yet to be completed - despite only two working days left.
Is it possible that the Sky engineer on Wednesday can do the full install? Slightly concerned it may end up being a wasted visit else, and I'll be left with no broadband.

Re: Can Sky engineers do entire installation?
@CForts Sky enginerrs can perform a one visit installation where for example the fibre is run overhead from a pole in the road. On a few occasions the install cannot go ahead but that can happen if an Openreach engineer is assigned. Sky are actually doing the external work for Openreach so should know the score.
If you want to check the details for your jobrun the following checker with your full address Openreach Checker
If you want help understanding that information post the full table and first three lines of the notescafter obscuring the reference to your address.

Re: Can Sky engineers do entire installation?
I can see it says FTTP install as '1 Stage' and also 'no anticipated issues', so assuming just a Sky visit might suffice?
Thanks

Re: Can Sky engineers do entire installation?
@CForts overhead installs are normally quite straightforward. Sky engineers have always done work on ladders so thst isnt an issue. Whover turns up should do a quick visual check and discuss with you where you would like the ONT and whether that is possible. Thry will run the drop cable and fit the external CSP drill the access hole, fit the ONT run the connection cable and weld that to the fibre from the pole innthe CSP box.
Sky often send a team of 2 engineers on these larger jobs.

Re: Can Sky engineers do entire installation?
Only Openreach or one of their contractors will run over head cables and install the CSP. These are the only people who can do a complete install in one visit.
Sky engineers did a trial in some areas carrying out pole work, but this was scrapped.
If the installation is by Sky the CSP needs to already be in place and they will splice from their and install the internal ONT.
