Cabled ethernet

Can someone tell to me to who I need to address to get a wall jack in my room for ethernet?

A local handy person, competent electrician or network specialist.  Neither Openreach or domestic ISP offers such installation services.

 

You might also want to investigate Powerline networking.

When I wanted the same work done, I found somebody on the My Builder website and the person did a great job.  It's obviously not just a case of fitting socket to the wall.  In my case the person did a great job of routing the cat 6 cable completely hidden over 3 floors.
