Cable doesn’t fit into the wall

Hi there, I'm trying to set up my broadband but the cable doesn't fit into the open reach box. The hole doesn't match up to the plug I need to put in. Thanks.

When were/are you due to be activated

Do you have a traditional mastersocket or full fibre ont

What cable were you given

this is the socket that's in my wall, like a rectangle sort of shape but this is how they are on my box

@Jake86 If sky supplied the hub and everything is there for connecting, then cable with the Purple ends for the DSL/OR master socket, and cable for the ONT is supplied with Yellow connectors on it for the Wan/Lan connection.

 

Depending on your OR Master socket and age off it, the ADSL filter may be required to be used to connect!

@Jake86 Purple connection cable is required for that setup as per your pictures! That is not a OR Master style socket but for connecting a standard BT Phone connection, if it is the only socket then ADSL filter may be required or if supplied a purple ended RJ11 to that Purple connection on the back off your sky Max hub with a standard BT phone plug on the other end. 

 

If you say what package you have from sky will be easier to determine what you are getting!

What speed did you opt for?

 

A superfast vdsl fttc or a full fibre fttp connection and have to received a dsl purple cable or a ethernet yellow cable

Okay thankyou I'm yet to find a purple or yellow cable ..

can I ask if you know what this other wire is for then please if it doesn't fit into the wall?

@Jake86 FF300 you are not connecting there, is there currently a FF connection in the home or is it to be Installed today! ONT is required for a Fibre installation!

Ok as today is activation day openreach should fit a fibre ont which means you should already have received an ethernet cable which will plug from the ont to lan port 4 on the max hub

Sky said there's no need for an engineer to come out so I'm assuming there is already one in the house? But that seems to be the only box I can find

Unless a previous occupier has made off with it.  Its a small white box little bigger than that mastersocket with power, los, lan and pon written above the led lights
