Bt IP?

Hello,

Please can you tell me if when using Sky Fibre, in my home, whether the IP can be resolved to a BT IP address,

Eg

2a00:23ee:1668:36da:6bde:ba78:efab:b0cd

Or will it always resolve to a Sky IP address?

Many thanks

It should show sky as the isp

That ipv6 does belong to bt as well as the ASN and has you in Llanrug.

Re: Bt IP?

Wow, thanks so much for the quick response CookieMonster!

I really appreciate it.

So if there is no possible chance that I am using my Google account ANYWHERE BUT at home, on ONLY one device, with my gigafast, but I'm getting IPs in my (Google takeaway) data that resolve to BT, in the North of England/Wales, am I correct in thinking that I may have been hacked?

Thanks again, it's annoying being a techno newbie!

I wouldn't say you've  hacked and  i haven't heard of google takeout data sharing until now and don't know how it works to be able to understand how it works

Re: Bt IP?

Sorry, I can't see how to edit the above post.

I didn't mean to ask such an annoying question...I was just trying to give context...

Please disregard my last question, what I meant to ask is:

If useage data shows various IPs which  resolve to BT, when I am ONLY using gigafast, does this seems wierd.

Re: Bt IP?

@cookiemonsteruk thanks so much.

I'm pretty sure it's weird too...but I didn't know if Sky shared IPs with BT...or some other reasonable explanation!

I've had targeted Cyber Security issues earlier in the year, but it's so hard to know if Im worrying over nothing/paranoid, so I'm looking for logical explanations.

Thanks again 🙂
