We were upgraded to faster sky broadband last year and were send the Sky Broadband hub which has until recently been absolutely fine.. however in the last month it has developed an intermittent high pitch sound and you can hear it clicking...mainly at night and so loud it actually wakes us up..I looked online and found a brand new router same as ee have down to model number on amazon..I have plugged this in and it all cycles through but then gets stuck on the middle internet light staying on orange and not turning to green...is there any reason this replacement router won't connect to the Internet as we assumed it would be plug and play given it is a like for like switch? Any help would be appreciated.

I have just spoken to sky and they are sending me a new router in the next few days as the router is faulty. 😊

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Jaffadub there are a few different models for example a SR203 model router will connect to most Sky UK Superfast services but the identical looking SR204 will only connect to Ultrafast services delivered over copper using G.Fast technology.
What service do you buy, are in the UK or Ireland and what model number is printed on the back at the bottom should be either er110, er115, sr203 or SR204.?
